What "Selah" Means
The word "Selah" appears throughout the Psalms and is commonly understood as an invitation to pause and reflect.
In a fast paced world filled with distractions, we believe people need intentional moments to slow down and focus on God. Selah Church was founded on the belief that transformation begins when we stop, listen, and make space for God's voice and presence in our lives.
This commitment shapes our worship, prayer, teaching, and community. Allowing God's presence to be the place from where we do all things.
OUR STORY
For more than a decade, we have devoted our lives to serving the Lord in youth ministry, worship ministry, and evangelism. Along the way, God has given us the privilege of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to seven nations. Through the years, we have witnessed the power of God restore the brokenhearted, heal the sick, and bring spiritual freedom.
Pastor Juan was born in Colombia and moved to Broward County in 1999. Jenifer was born in Venezuela and made Broward County her home in 2015. Though our journeys began in different nations, God faithfully brought our paths together with a shared calling to serve His Kingdom.
Through every season, one conviction has remained constant: an unwavering love and burden for Broward County. This is the place where we have grown in our faith, matured as leaders, gotten married, and built our family. It is here that God has broken generational strongholds in our lives, shaped our character, and allowed us to witness His transforming power through the local church.
Today, we believe the Lord is establishing a church centered on Jesus Christ — His Word, His presence, and His power. Our desire is simply to exalt Him in everything we do. We believe God is raising us to serve as prophetic voices for this generation, faithfully communicating His heart in a way that equips and activates disciples of Jesus Christ to walk confidently in their God-given calling and purpose.
The presence of God has no boundaries, no denominations, and no limitations. Our greatest desire is to know Jesus deeply, to hear His voice clearly, and to bring glory to the Father by raising up wholehearted disciples who live for His Kingdom and make Him known wherever they go.
We are deeply honored that God has entrusted us with this calling, and we are incredibly grateful to walk this journey alongside you and our children, Jade and Jacob. We cannot wait to see all that God will do as we pursue His presence and heart together.
